...looks
as easy as 1, 2, 3 ...and ... sometimes, it actually is! (The Rabbit Ridge
label pictured below is one of the newer self-adhesive types. As a result,
I have a limited amount of time to get it off the bottle before it becomes
semi-dry, gets gummy, and tries to become a permanent part of my left
thumb.)
USE
CAUTION: it's important to have the bottle cradled firmly in the
towel to keep it from rocking or moving excessively. In pictures 2 and
3 below, I'm keeping the side of my right hand and knuckles well-supported
against the side of the bottle, in order to keep both my hand and the
blade from slipping. I'm also applying a slight pressure to the other
side of the bottle with my left hand, while holding the label up off
the bottle with a very light tug to expose the seam between the bottle
and label.
Work in
full even strokes, drawing the blade under the label from the top of
the label downward. Most of the "pressure" actually exerted from both
sides of the bottle should tend to neutralize any bottle movement.
